Thanksgiving, Trust, and Transformation: Stewardship for the 21st Century”
Thanksgiving – all we have is a gift from God and we, in thanks, give back to God.
Trust – God has given us these gifts as a trust to manage and use to be the hands and feet of Christ in this world.
Transformation – with thanksgiving we trust God with our lives and we are transformed.
New words for stewardship in today’s world.
During this workshop participants will explore:
• What is stewardship?
• The need for new thinking and new approaches to giving in the church
• Transactional vs. transformational giving
• Fundraising as ministry
• Why you should have a year-round generosity program
• The importance of telling your story, relating your mission to generosity
Participants will receive a several resources for use in the local church.
Jill A. White brings over 25 years’ experience in stewardship, fundraising, and strategic planning to the position of Lead Regional Mission Interpreter. In her role as Lead Regional Mission Interpreter she works with churches across the country leading Capital Campaigns, Visioning and Strategic Planning, Repurposing, Stewardship, and other Church Building & Loan Fund programs.
A lifelong member of the United Church of Christ, Jill has served for over 40 years in numerous leadership roles at the local church, Association, and Conference levels.
Jill is a member of the Western Maryland chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and has received the Executive Certificate in Religious Fundraising from the Lake Institute on Faith & Giving. She also holds the Society for Competitive Intelligence Professionals Fundamental and Advanced certification.
